Alex is a fertility specialist with a focus on helping women from conception to delivery, with a range of fertility treatment options for women who have trouble conceiving. This includes understanding the menstrual cycle, regulating ovulation, insemination (the timing and placement of concentrated sperm at the most fertile time of the month), sophisticated IVF (ICSI) and other advanced sperm, egg and embryo selection provided by IVF Australia.

Alex’s practice also extends to assessing and investigating menstrual disorders in adolescents, while minimising their impact on patients’ quality of life. She provides continuity of care from conception to birth and is capable, competent and calm in highly emotional situations. Alex recognises the special medical and emotional concerns of an IVF pregnancy and ensures that these are considered in the management and coordination of antenatal care. Having worked as a Staff Specialist at the Royal Hospital for Women, Alex’s specialist skills have seen her manage busy delivery suites with normal and abnormal labours. Alex ensures her patients are informed, educated and feel safe during pregnancy and labour. She takes time to understand her patients’ needs and build trust.

Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Her specialist training was undertaken at St George Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women where she  has also  been a fellow in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

As well as being involved in one of the first female obstetric groups in eastern Sydney, Alex is conjoint lecturer and examiner at UNSW involved with the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and graduates.  She holds a fellowship from RANZCOG (The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Alex is also fluent in Spanish
