Patient Information

Things you need to know before your surgery: After your doctor has booked your procedure, you’ll need to complete and return the admission forms at least 72 hours before the day or surgery. You can do this online.
Things to do on the day: It’s important you do not eat or drink anything for at least 6 hours before surgery, and arrange for a friend to collect you after the procedure. Check our guide on what to wear, bring, and general information on medications. Please contact your doctor for instructions if you are unsure about your medications
Take time to recover afterwards. Following an anaesthetic you won’t be able to drive for at least 24 hours, and you need to be able to rest. If you experience any problems after surgery, contact your surgeon immediately.
Information for your carer: We cannot admit patients unless they have an escort or carer to collect them after surgery. This guide will help them understand their role in your recovery.
